Italian-American sautéed chicken in a rich Marsala wine and mushroom sauce

Ingredients

  • 4 6oz each chicken breast, pounded thin
  • 8 oz cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 2/3 cup dry Marsala wine
  • 1/3 cup chicken broth
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 shallots, minced

Instructions

  1. 1.Dredge chicken in seasoned flour; sauté in butter until golden, 4 minutes per side.
  2. 2.Remove chicken; sauté shallots and mushrooms until browned.
  3. 3.Add Marsala and broth; simmer and reduce by half.
  4. 4.Return chicken to sauce; simmer 5 minutes. Serve with pasta or mashed potatoes.
