Classic Chicken Noodle Soup

Comforting homemade chicken noodle soup with tender chicken and egg noodles

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs bone-in chicken pieces
  • 8 cups chicken broth
  • 3 cups egg noodles
  • 3 medium carrots, sliced
  • 3 celery stalks, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • as needed garlic, thyme, bay leaf, parsley

Instructions

  1. 1.Simmer chicken in broth with onion, garlic, thyme, and bay leaf 25 minutes.
  2. 2.Remove chicken; shred meat and discard bones and skin.
  3. 3.Add carrots and celery; cook 10 minutes until tender.
  4. 4.Add noodles and shredded chicken; cook 8 minutes. Season and serve.
