Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup jasmine rice
  • 6 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 inch knob, sliced fresh ginger
  • 2 crushed garlic cloves
  • 4 soft-boiled eggs
  • to top scallions, sesame oil, soy sauce

Instructions

  1. 1.Bring broth with ginger and garlic to a boil; add rinsed rice.
  2. 2.Reduce heat and simmer 35-40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until rice breaks down and becomes creamy.
  3. 3.Remove ginger and garlic; season with salt.
  4. 4.Serve topped with soft-boiled egg, scallions, sesame oil, and a dash of soy sauce.
