Ingredients

  • 1 cup steel cut oats
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large apple, diced
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. 1.Bring water and milk to a boil; stir in oats and reduce to a simmer.
  2. 2.Cook 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until creamy.
  3. 3.Meanwhile, sauté apple in butter with cinnamon and brown sugar until caramelized.
  4. 4.Serve oatmeal topped with caramelized apples and a splash of milk.
